TAEMIN ADVICE Album Contents
Pretty late post but whatever. LOL. I’m back and I’m giving you a peek at Taemin’s latest mini-album, “ADVICE.” I pre-ordered this album and paid for express shipping but it somehow got stuck at the customs for far too long. *sighs… Anyway, below are some photos of the actual ADVICE album and its contents, and my thoughts about this latest release from Taemin. Lezgetit!
TAEMIN ADVICE Album
This album includes an envelope inside and houses the photocard, the usual lysn brochure, a folded poster, and a postcard. It’s nice to have something to hold all of these instead of having them inserted into the album’s pages.
ADVICE features five tracks:
01 Advice
02 Light
03 If I could tell you (Feat. ํ์ฐ)
04 Strings
05 SAD KIDS
Advice
Being the title track, Advice is so unique and fresh to my ears. It’s waaaay different from Taemin’s previous works yet still has his signature dark concept. A concept that only he can pull off. I first listened and watched it during his Beyond Live concert and it left me so confused and amazed. Although I only remember a few bits after the concert, I wasn’t expecting it to be this addicting that it automatically plays in my mind without me thinking about it. LOL.
Light
I don’t want to be misunderstood here but I have to say it. Here it goes… I feel like this could have been a song for Baekhyun? It’s a song that I can imagine him sing and the title fits him as well. I don’t know if it’s just me. Though, I think if it was a song candidate, he might have turned it down as it’s already similar to EXO’s Artificial Love. IDK. But I surely enjoy this song with Taemin’s voice in it.
If I could tell you (Feat. Taeyeon)
Let me just share what Jeff Benjamin had to say:
Strings
C’mon. COME ON!!! This is so sexxxxxyyyy and so gooooood, please. In this song, Taemin shows off another vocal color of his. Strings is THAT kind of song. THAT KIND. His voice in this has that alluring smoky sound, builds up nicely and sets up the mood. If I’m not listening to the title track, Strings is definitely the one playing.
Sad Kids
Sad Kids is a sequel of 2 Kids, the prologue single for his 2020 album “Never Gonna Dance Again.” The song is very experimental, sentimental, and he sang it in a unique way. Listening to it makes me imagine him wandering around Europe, like he did with 2 Kids in the suburbs of Paris.
Taemin served some looks in the photobook. A mix of high fashion and avant-garde, dark and punky, and a soft look as well. The mini-album is like a magazine, including the size. This thing definitely looks good as a coffee table book. But obviously, I would be storing this, and no hand but mine shall touch it.
By now, Taemin would have enlisted and I know SHINee World misses him. I wish for his safe and healthy return. And I’m already looking forward to his ACT 2, the many moments we could be with him and the SHINee members once he’s discharged!
