Peripera Ink the Airy Velvet and Peri’s Ink the Velvet – Impressions
I’ve recently purchased both versions: Ink the Airy Velvet and Ink the Velvet, two of the hottest items available on Korean shopping sites. Korean brands are known for setting trends but I think they are also gradually adapting to products that give off a different style unpopular in their market before, such as products with a matte finish. You might already know that most of them love the “dewy” look. From BB, CC, BCD creams to lip candies, all these give a glowing, dewy finish. But not anymore. I’ve been seeing a lot of new matte products available in their market.
Impressions
At first, I was kind of hesitant to buy these because I don’t really go for a matte finish. What convinced me were the pretty colors and the cheap price. Weee~! Turns out, these aren’t that matte after all!
Peripera Ink the Airy Velvet
- semi-matte/light velvety finish (will make you think of clouds, cotton, feathers and all things soft and smooth!)
- smells nice (light soapy scent)
- smooth – addicting to touch/swipe, promise!
- lasts a few hours with regular eating, drinking, licking (who doesn’t lick their own lips tho? LOL ).
- shades available are only different hues of red and pink. (Check out Airy Ink Velvet shades here)
Peripera Peri’s Ink the Velvet
- semi-matte finish
- smells nice (light fruity scent)
- has a creamy texture during application
- feels thicker and kinda sticky at first
- lasts a few hours with regular eating, drinking, licking (again, who doesn’t lick their own lips tho? LOL ).

If I would choose which is better, it would have to be Airy Ink Velvet for its lightness. I have no idea how they made it but you’ll definitely see the difference during application. It comes creamy in the applicator and magically transforms to a velvety/flower petal finish as you swipe. Can’t help but feel my lips because it’s truly like touching a flower petal! If you prefer a wide selection of colors, Ink the Velvet is just as great.
